About Me
I’m Jaikar Marur, a designer based in Bengaluru with 14 years of experience.
I enjoy figuring out how to make complicated tools feel simple and easy to use. Over the last decade, I’ve worked on everything from big enterprise software in Toronto to medical ultrasound machines right here in India.
My background is a bit of a mix—I started with a degree in mechanical engineering and later found my way into design and animation.
Right now, I spend my days as a Senior Staff Designer at SolarWinds, working with a team to modernize their Hybrid Cloud Observability platform. I’m also building a tool called Arisi on the side, which helps animation studios plan their production more effectively.
When I’m not at my computer, I’m usually at an art studio. I’m currently a student at the Academy of Realist Art, where I’m learning the traditional fundamentals of drawing and painting. I find that the patience and focus required for classical art actually helps me think more clearly about digital design.
A brief overview of my work:
Enterprise & Cloud: I’ve led design projects at SolarWinds, CVent, and OpenText, focusing on making large-scale software more efficient for the people who use it every day.
Healthcare: At Samsung Medison, I worked on the interfaces for ultrasound machines, helping make diagnostic tools a little more intuitive for doctors.
Startups: With Arisi, I’m learning what it takes to build a product from the ground up, from the first sketch to an actual working app.
Agency Experience: Earlier in my career, I designed apps for various clients at Deloitte Digital and Koru.
